Let’s meet Jenna Watley of MickeyTravels!

I am so happy to start 2024 off with one of our Travel Advisor Features! This month we are featuring Jenna Watley from MickeyTravels! Jenna shared some interesting insights about her personal and professional life, including how she got into the travel business and what her favorite things to do in Orlando are.

Jenna lives in Omaha, Nebraska with her husband and two daughters. They are expecting a baby boy any day now! (Congratulations!). Before becoming a travel agent, Jenna taught elementary school for eight years. She resigned after having her first daughter to have more time and flexibility with her family. In 2018, Jenna started working as a part-time travel agent during her daughter’s nap times and at night. Now, she is a full-time travel agent who focuses on planning Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, Adventures by Disney, and Universal Orlando vacations. Even though Jenna is much busier now, she still enjoys the flexibility this job offers her with her kids while they are little. Making time for family is so important, and the role of Travel Advisor allows so many moms to be there for their kids more!

Jenna's love for travel started when her parents took her and her sister to Disney World for the first time when she was 12. She was immediately hooked! She loved being immersed in a "magical bubble" for a week, experiencing it all with her family. Over the years, Jenna went on several more Disney vacations and thoroughly enjoyed researching places to stay and creating itineraries to maximize their time in the parks. When they began planning her oldest daughter's first Disney trip, the love of planning all came back to her. She joined MickeyTravels shortly after that vacation and has been a travel agent ever since!

Jenna loves to travel all over, but her heart is definitely at Disney! Jenna said that Disney World will always be her true love, but as her family grows and her kids' interests become more diverse, they have really loved cruising with Disney! There is always something for all ages to do on board the ship. Her kids love the Oceaneer Club, and she and her husband enjoy relaxing in the adult-only spaces (spa, pool deck, lounges, restaurants, etc.). They love exploring Castaway Cay as a family, too. Outside of Disney, they have a favorite lake spot in the Midwest they visit every summer (Lake Okoboji) that holds some wonderful memories for their family.

When in Orlando, home of Magical Vacation Services, Jenna said that outside of the theme parks, they love Disney's resorts! The Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, and Riviera are their family's favorites! They could stay at any of those resorts for an entire week or more and have plenty to do without ever stepping foot in the parks.

Jenna chose a fantastic question to answer! She chose "Are you Summer, Fall, Spring, or Winter? Jenna said that fall is her favorite time of year at home. By October, the heat/humidity has left, and the weather is just really beautiful. The leaves are changing, and the colors are absolutely gorgeous! Her family has season passes to their local pumpkin patch, which is kind of like the Disneyland of Omaha. Jenna loves caramel apples, kettle corn, pumpkin spice lattes, and really every fall food imaginable ;)
